Sorry to say I wish McCann had hit O'Neils truck with the rock because John would have had to pay the consequences for his irrational behavior. This guy is constantly in a problem of some sort with someone.eventually he will get caught. If he had hit the truck with the rock a felony maybe,we wouldn't have to worry about him taking office of any type. What about the call to the police a constant habit of McCann that we pay for. I understand there is a penal code in place to prevent him from doing this especially since he won't sign a complaint form. Maybe the City of Chula Vista should get involved. But then John would claim it was to prevent him from getting into office. Another conspiracy against him. It's scary I'm beginning to think he actually believes his own crap.

Perhaps the So Bay community might ask for a medical/mental evaluation of both candidates before the seat is given to either of them. The last thing Chula Vista needs is a City Council member that cracks under stress.

Wouldn't you have loved to be in the squad room after hours that night 'Yep, McCann was at it again - how many times has he called for backup over trivial bs?' Question is why hasn't Chief of Police or Mayor sat him down and put him in his place - 'John, Chula Vista's finest are not here for your beckon call - trust me, you are no more important than the community member facing a REAL crisis - so do us a favor KNOCK IT THE HELL OFF and grow the hell up'!!!!!'

just my opinion

I am hoping that the city of Chula Vista will work with reputable institutions of higher learning, not the kind that exist to take the most money possible from the students and the taxpayers. Keep the 'for-profit' bunch out of this, and make sure the schools and programs that become a part of this effort are truly there for the students, not their own bottom line.

Dr. Glover might well be wondering what and who he has gotten mixed up with. Why is there so much aberrant behavior surrounding John McCann?

This is another example of irrational and childish behavior displayed by McCann. Let me list a few others in his recent history - filming the crowd at a board meeting at Hilltop High, filing a restraining order against a parent and losing, calling the police during a board meeting to complain about his signs being stolen, having lawyers send cease and desist letters to parents. These are just a few examples.

For him to say he is being bullied and intimidated is ironic because that is exactly what he does. Cease and desist letters threatening lawsuits, complaints filed with the employer of a parent who is a critic - yes John I have the actual wording you used in your complaint - that is what I call bullying and intimidation.

John is irrational in his actions and behavior, and uses his position to attempt to bully and intimidate critics. This is just another example of this.

SoCal - your typed words are the same words this community is vocalizing. While McCann 'claimed' he dropped his phone - based on the video on 7/39 IF McCann's story was true that would have meant he was 'throwing' his phone at Mr. O'Neill's truck. In my opinion, McCann was having what has now become one of his 'notorious melt downs'. He should count his blessings, not many persons would have shown the restraint O'Neill did - throw a 'rock, phone, anything' at my car - YOU ARE GOING TO JAIL!!!!!!!!

It is unbelievable that he garnered votes from any entity other than family - one thing for sure my words a while back are ringing true - IF THIS IS THE BEST THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS TO OFFER, GOD HELP US ALL!!!!!!!!

After years of 'hearing' about the proposed University, hopefully I will see mortar and bricks before I take the next 'big' step into the after life.

John McCann, who it was reported elsewhere said he was on the phone with the Registrar of Voters, had possibly just received the news that all votes were counted and he and Steve Padilla were still tied--which quite easily knowing McCann, could have led to this. I believe some psychologists might say that there was some transference going on, if not blame-shifting. At any rate, it seems that McCann is due for a check-up.

John McCann was on KUSI at the end of this week doing what he does second best - whining that his reputation had been tainted by negative fliers. Compared to his decision to place his children on a flier with mud splattered on them those fliers identifying questionable aspects of McCann were stellar.

What does he do best - why promote self of course - either by continuously referring to his military service, playing the pity card with continuous reminders of his 'near death accident' or having announcers read a prepared dialogue about him at high school football gameS he is not attending.

Wow, my fellow voters what does it take to retire a poor politician in the South Bay?
