Madness, pure madness - the importance placed on TEST SCORES. Seems we have lost sight of what is truly important - the student.

Great article, all parents should read!

Its been close to four years since the closing of the strawberry field by the owners. To date, still empty but it does have weeds.

Why aren't you running for office. That is a serious question & one you should weigh heavily come election time.

It's nuts, but the entire time I've been a resident, I've never heard a single local politician explain how the city intends to support its ever-growing population.

People seem oblivious to the irony of having historic rainfall this past winter, yet we're still in a drought.

Yet, even though there isn't enough water for the residents already here, there goes city council rubber-stamping even more residential development.

Please run for office. Please bring some sanity to City Hall.

Why does Segura get called Chula Vista man in the headline? Doesn't the author of this story know Mr. Segura is a Sweetwater Board member and a union leader.

Star-News really knows how to pick the headlines. Chula Vista Man. Ha!

It is a person who is filled with deep values who stands up for what he/she believes in. Stands tall with the integrity to speak the words that need to be not only heard but listened to, no matter what the consequences. At the end of the day HOW WE LIVE OUR LIVES MATTERS - the consequences we face for being true to self have little consequence. As Grandmother Annie use to say - 'you need to like the person you see looking back in the mirror' - a mantra Mr. Segura must have been taught by his elders!

Escobedo is a very effective superintendent. Wishing he would become superintendent of the sweetwater district, promote accountability, and get rid of the 2-3 various ineffective mafia groups within the sweetwater district.
