Ouch, this article was published at about the same time a car plowed through a group of protesters, killing one and injuring several others.

Anyway, perhaps temporary bollards, similar to the ones that already line some of third ave, can be used to reduce the burden on organizers after a one-time investment

Inadequate parking for Golf event. Cars are jam-packed throughout the surrounding neighborhood, in some cases partially blocking driveways. Why is the Country Club allowed to hold events for which it offers insufficient parking?

National City will only be a city of compassion once the government allows a LGTB bar in the city. We need the government to be more transparent and have more democrats on the city council.

ALL TEACHERS DESERVE A FAIR CONTRACT. It's not fair what is happening at this school.

The author forgot to mention that MAAC administrators fired the first three teachers that began unionizing at the school, without cause. The author makes it seem like the teachers are unwilling to work with MAAC negotiators because impasse was declared after looking at 4 counter proposals. How may counter proposals had the MAAC negoiators declined previously? Quite a lot. Impasse is not declared willy nilly. There are rules that have to be followed. The teachers working to gain a contract have followed the rules. The school's negotiating team has not. That is why impasse was declared. The Sweetwater District, through which the MAAC Charter contracts, already had long standing alternative schools when MAAC was formed. They are Options Secondary School, and Palomar. Get your facts straight.

Hey unionprez(I highly doubt you are a union president based on your commnt), union strong and students first are not mutually exclusive. They are the same thing.

So what is it MAAC staff? Is it union strong? Or is it students first?
