John McCann, who it was reported elsewhere said he was on the phone with the Registrar of Voters, had possibly just received the news that all votes were counted and he and Steve Padilla were still tied--which quite easily knowing McCann, could have led to this. I believe some psychologists might say that there was some transference going on, if not blame-shifting. At any rate, it seems that McCann is due for a check-up.

I heard that since Salas is mayor that they both may get seats.

John McCann was on KUSI at the end of this week doing what he does second best - whining that his reputation had been tainted by negative fliers. Compared to his decision to place his children on a flier with mud splattered on them those fliers identifying questionable aspects of McCann were stellar.

What does he do best - why promote self of course - either by continuously referring to his military service, playing the pity card with continuous reminders of his 'near death accident' or having announcers read a prepared dialogue about him at high school football gameS he is not attending.

Wow, my fellow voters what does it take to retire a poor politician in the South Bay?

I thought I had read that if there is something wrong with a ballot, the voter can be given the opportunity to make a correction, so that the vote will count. I am wondering if that would ever be done in this sort of local election?

Couldn't have said it better. We are greatly relieved to see McCann leave SUSHD. His legacy is nothing to be proud of in truth. But if you listen to McCann he is of course the conquering hero as always. If he is on the city council there will be enough people with integrity to control him. As far as his lame threats to pursue the defamation lawsuit, nah! Just a lot of thunder to get sympathy and attention. We are so glad that he will be unable to use half time at the football games to promote his political agenda at the cheerleaders expense. He is now the city's problem.

We are facing the task, no our NEW Board is facing the task of laying a NEW foundation - 5 new Board members at SUHSD.

One of the majors tasks - the hiring of a new Superintendent. Leadership starts at the top.

Another task - FORENSIC AUDIT - that is a must! True accountability of the money, all of the money including Mello funds.

L street - what is the truth? Closed session discussions on this issue need to be a part of the past, continued secrecy will not be accepted by the taxpaying public.

New District office - community has spoken, not until each and everyone of our campuses are brought up to par. Spend the money in the classroom - we need smaller class sizes, aides in the classroom, etc.

I am tired of John McCann, tired of his self promotional speeches.

Tell me, how many of you recently attended a District football game where a speech was read about John McCann and he was not there - why????? Why would speeches be read about John McCann when he is leaving? Oh dummy me - it was election time..

It is time for a new beginning for all - time for the community to once again build trust - BUT new Board members you will have to earn it by living up to your campaign promises - I have faith you will - because in all earnest, it is about the kids...

The last I heard, not all the votes had been counted, and Steve Padilla was edging closer--maybe 50 votes behind? So, I can only imagine the drama should the vote turn against McCann.

Guesses as to what might come next: press conference called, followed by a demand for a recount, and possibly a whine or two about how unfair everything always is for poor John McCann.

Who has yet to do anything for anyone other than himself.

REALLY? You continue to play either the hero card or the victim card - when are you going to grow up? Prepare yourselves Chula Vista, you are going to hear about his accident so often that it will soon make you nauseous. We had to endure 4 years of his self promotion as the reincarnation of GI Joe. Issues, plans for the future - try talking about points of substance, a politician is SUPPOSE to hold the taxpayers issues as priority one - keep the personal melodrama between you and the mirror. As always, just my opinion - but it is shared by many.

Not only disgusting, but outright disrespectful to others and don't care! Lie and cheat is their way of life, and the current liberal system allows it....

HERE COMES JOHNNY - and I am not referring to Carson. City Council members be prepared - get your attorneys lined up because if you say anything to hurt McCanns feelings you will no doubt be receiving a letter, you know the cease and desist kind. Community members, I would say prepare yourselves, however NO preparation will serve to protect you from what is headed your way - no doubt first order of business will be to pass a new bylaw allowing Johnny Boy to leave his little red and white signs up indefinitely in preparation for the next election.
