Burglar released

A Chula Vista burglar was released from jail recently after being sentenced to time served in an unrelated case in which he had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl.

Erick Rojas, 22, was released from George Bailey Detention after getting 365 days in jail. He was placed on three years probation by San Diego Superior Court Judge Robert O’Neill.

O’Neill ordered that Rojas get a concurrent term of 365 days for violating terms of his probation for a burglary conviction in Chula Vista Superior Court. O’Neill gave him credit for 396 days served in that case, and probation was reinstated.

Rojas was ordered not to contact the victim whom he had met at an apartment complex in University City on Feb. 25 while he was on probation.
